Renew So Help Me Todd for a 3rd season
Why this petition matters
Whereas; cancelling a show when it's already reported to end on a cliffhanger is a cruel thing to do that has even made some people say they'll stop watching the network altogether
Whereas; all the new stories we've got like Allison finding herself, Lyle and Alex's romance (and whatever espionage-y thing Alex has got going on), Beverly's master plan and how Susan figures into it if she does more than just in Beverly stealing her from Margaret, Todd's budding romance with Judy Maxon (played by Skylar's fellow Glee alum Heather Morris), Lyle's own family drama etc. etc. deserve to be given more time to grow and not just cut off at the knees because CBS ran out of space
Whereas; this show is very much reminiscent of a sort of Blue Sky cable show we don't really get nowadays (like Psych, Leverage etc.) but unlike those and other Blue-Sky-torchbearer-into-today Leverage: Redemption it's on a broadcast network meaning its message of hope-against-adversity is more accessible to more people.
Whereas; this deserves more than just a streaming-only wrap-up movie or w/e because if Skylar Astin's two big TV shows with him as a lead (this and Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist) end the same way (two seasons ending on a cliffhanger and then a wrap-up movie) he might not get as much TV work after that as he otherwise would have because some industry people might see casting him as a way to jinx your show.
Whereas; it has a lot more diversity than you'd expect for the kind of show it is (especially if you're using stuff like Psych as your standard) from racial to sexuality to neurodiversity and treats them with a lot more care than you'd think including e.g. how un-stereotypical a black male character Lyle is or how they had the actual word neurodiversity mentioned multiple times by the "boomer" character no less or everything about S2E6 "Is The Jury Out"
Whereas; as a law show the family can watch (as opposed to something like the various Law & Orders which might freak out younger people) it could help set a lot of young people on the path to something in the legal profession (and help them realize there's more to it than just trial lawyers)
Whereas; this show has one of the best depictions of family on a non-explicitly-family-focused show and one that manages to be surprisingly realistic (in terms of the non-legal-related crap they go through being neither barely-existent nor overdramatized for stakes) while still having heart and I'm pretty sure everyone who watches could see something of themselves and their family in some relationship within the Wright family.
Therefore; since CBS has decided to be a Beverly Crest and declare it's done with the show, another network like ABC, FOX, NBC or the CW should pick it up because it's, pardon the pun, the Wright thing to do. All we need to do is show the demand is there
