I am a data analyst in global health. I work directly with teams who monitor the HIV epidemic in different countries around the world. We inform policy directors and answer their questions to improve program implementation. Teams I work with provide access to care for some of the most vulnerable members of society.

Our ability to continue our work combating global health crises is being stifled. The work we do plays a vital role in maintaining and improving global health standards across the world, which this executive order threatens, particularly in economically disadvantaged countries. An alarming statistic presented by UNAIDS says that 39.9 million people were living with HIV/AIDS in 2023. Our work is essential in tracking these cases and, more importantly, averting the further spread of this virus and others like it.

This is more than my job — it’s a vital lifeline to communities across the globe. The cessation of foreign aid does not only compromise the progress we’ve gained so far, but it jeopardizes the health of everyone. 

We implore Co-president Trump and unelected oligarch Musk to rescind this order, to choose empowerment over impediment, and uphold the funding for global health and international development initiatives that was already allocated by Congress. Please sign this petition and support our cause.
