Tia Marie is a god sent not only for the dog but for the parolees as well. For over 20 years VRC has worked ceaselessly to give Pit Bulls, and now all types of dogs & cats, another chance in life. Each and EVERY dog is taken in and received any and all medical treatment necessary. We work patiently to re-acclimatize fearful dogs to the loving care of a human, so that they may eventually be adopted. In some cases, these dogs have never had a kind word or touch, and it is a slow process. After determining temperaments and compatibility factors, we begin that long search for the perfect home. They reach out to the community to help people keep their dogs by giving those free medical help and food. Then there’s the parolees that she hires. Most parolees can’t get a job anywhere but she offer them one. She gives them a place to live, pays them and helps them get back on the feet. Best example is Earl a person with only one working arm, that Tai didn’t treat any different than her other employees - after 2 years he was able to get off of parole, raise money to get help with his arm and even got funding to buy a house of his own for him and his son. She truly is a god sent not only helping dogs by help parolee get their lives back on track. Making society a better place each day.

Villalobos Rescue Center (VRC) had a life-changing experience in 2011 when we moved from Los Angeles County, CA to Southeast Louisiana.  This decision took us almost a year to implement but it was our rescue efforts during Hurricane Katrina that just kept resonating in our mind and heart. So after almost 20 years in the “Golden State”, we made the “Big Easy” our new home.  And in 2014, we expanded and set up another location in the rural country setting of Assumption Parish (1 1/2 hours from New Orleans).

This year Animal Planet was bought out by the Discovery Channel and there is no word on weather Pit Bulls & Parolee is going to be continued. They haven't filed since April of 2021. So I am hoping this petition will help The Discovery Channel realize how many fans and supporters they have out there and the truly amazing work they do.
