Compel L.A. County to Treat the Homeless with Mental Illnesses and Addictions
Why this petition matters
For three years now, the L.A. Alliance has fought for the citizens of Los Angeles, pushing the City and the County to treat the homelessness issue as the crisis that it is.
We’ve secured an historic deal with the City. Now we need the County to act!
By law, the County has to provide mental illness and addiction treatment services for people experiencing homelessness. Four years ago, the County’s Department of Mental Health issued a report identifying the need for 3,000 new mental health beds for those experiencing homelessness.
But the Board of Supervisors refuses to dedicate the beds, treatment, and services necessary. Without the County's action, the devastation we see on the street will continue - and more will suffer untreated and unhoused.
Sign the petition to demand the Board of Supervisors create 3,000 new treatment beds to get the sick, mentally ill, and addicted the help they need.
