Hello Highlanders,

My name is David Kiroloss and I am one of the ASUCR Senators for BCOE. My fellow senators and the members of the COVID-19 response committee are spearheading a campaign to represent the implementation of a financial relief plan for students that are paying room and board services. Due to the recent spike in cases from the COVID-19 Omicron variant, the first four weeks of the Winter 2022 quarter is now online.

In order to accomplish this mission, we are planning to pass a senate resolution and send a letter to the UCR Administration to advocate for the campaign. For the sake of transparency, I will be attaching the legislation to the bottom of this petition so that you may view. As a disclaimer, the legislation is subject to changes. It will be finalized by week three's senate meeting if it passes.

The bottom line of this campaign is that students should not be paying full rent for housing that they are not living in. Students should not be paying for food that they are not going to eat. We should not be paying for services that we will not be using. 

In order to make our voices heard and strengthen our campaign, we need you to sign and share this petition. This will communicate to UCR administration that we do not want to pay for services we will not be able to use. Please sign this petition and share it with your fellow peers.
