Why this petition matters

Started by RWLC SouthDakota

As concerned citizens of Lawrence County, South Dakota, we believe in the fundamental principles of free and fair and transparent elections. We firmly stand for transparency at every level of the electoral process, ensuring that every vote cast is accurately counted. Our right to vote is sacred, and it is our duty to ensure that our voices are truly being heard.

Petition Request:
We hereby request that the Lawrence County Commissioners, with the cooperation of the County Auditor, take immediate action to address election integrity concerns via SDCL https://sdlegislature.gov/Statutes/12-17B-3 and move toward implementing the following measures:

1. Require paper ballots with hand counting at the precinct level: Paper ballots provide a tangible record that can be audited if necessary. Hand counting at each precinct ensures greater accuracy while maintaining transparency throughout the process.

2. Ban all electronic election machines and electronic tabulators as the sole means for totaling votes: By eliminating reliance on electronic systems prone to vulnerabilities, we can restore trust in our electoral system.

3. Allow for the inclusion of volunteers to assist with signature verification. With absentee and early voting shattering records across the nation, ballots' signature verification process should be under heavy scrutiny.

By adopting these measures, we will strengthen confidence in our election and voting processes while preserving citizens' rights to transparent and accurate elections.

Supporting Facts:
1) Recent reports detail that AT&T along with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) used a nationwide cellular network for “public safety” called FirstNet to connect election systems throughout the country. Electronic voting machines are susceptible to hacking and manipulation, potentially compromising election results.

2) A report by Verified Voting Foundation highlights instances where electronic tabulators have produced inaccurate results, raising concerns about their reliability.

3) The Heritage Foundation's Election Fraud Database has documented numerous cases of mail-in voting fraud across the country, emphasizing the need for stricter regulations in this area.

We urge Lawrence County to prioritize the integrity of our elections and take immediate action to implement these necessary changes. Let us safeguard our Constitutional Republic and ensure that every citizen's vote is accurately counted. Together, we can make a difference!

Our Story:
The Republican Women of Lawrence County, an America First group, have a membership body that are passionate about our Constitutional Republic and the power of each individual's vote. We understand how important it is for citizens to actively participate in shaping their communities through elections. However, ongoing concerns regarding the integrity of our electoral system nation wide have raised doubts about the accuracy and transparency of the voting process.

It deeply troubles us that electronic election machines and tabulators are being used without sufficient oversight or accountability measures. These machines can be vulnerable to hacking or algorithm manipulation, potentially compromising the integrity of our elections. Election officials at the highest levels refuse to acknowledge and/or release the Cast Vote Record so that accuracy and accountability can be verified. Additionally, mail-in voting has become increasingly popular but lacks adequate safeguards against fraud or miscounting.

Thank you for your support in signing this petition and standing up for transparent and accurate elections in Lawrence County, South Dakota.
