I am fed up with inflation. Like many of you reading this, I’ve noticed the rising cost of living is becoming unbearable. It's time to take a stand against the relentless tide of inflation that is eroding our purchasing power and making it harder for us to meet our basic needs.



In recent years, we've seen a significant increase in the cost of rent, utilities, mortgages and other recurring bills. According to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), consumer prices rose 5.4% in July 2021 compared to a year earlier - the biggest jump since August 2008.



We are calling on lawmakers to enact legislation that would temporarily freeze rents, utility costs, mortgage payments and other recurring bills until we can find a sustainable solution to this issue. This is not an unreasonable demand; similar measures have been implemented in times of crisis before.

We shouldn’t allow these politicians to tell us that they can’t do anything about inflation or the economic hardships we’re all facing. Especially when there have been times where they’ve intervened to prevent economic collapse: The Great Depression that lasted from 1929-1939, The Great Recession that began in December 2007 and ended in 2009, and our most recent crisis, The Coronavirus Pandemic in 2020. The economic fallout from this pandemic is far-reaching and continues to be felt today. The Covid-19 crisis has not only affected our health but has also significantly impacted our economy. The recovery process will take time, but we need immediate action to mitigate further damage.

The burden on ordinary citizens is too great; it's time for those in power to step up and protect us from these crippling increases. Let’s remember, politicians are supposed to WORK FOR US, but instead, they’re using our votes as leverage. When one party doesn’t get the job done, the other party uses their political powers and pull at our strings so they can get elected and ignore us the same!
