Big Bear Lake's fireworks are a major economic and social driver for our little mountain community. The fireworks shows unite us to celebrate our country's independence, the rights and freedoms of workers, and the significant contributions of our veterans and those who have served and died for our country. We rely heavily on the influx of tourism that these events temporarily bring, and putting a stop to the shows is guaranteed to harm many small, middle-class businesses throughout the entire mountain community. 

Recently environmental groups have been forcing a hard stop on fireworks celebrations throughout all of California as a result of pollution concerns. While we would like nothing more than to see environmentally friendly solutions to address these concerns, we are devastated that these small groups have had enough political power to overrule the interests of the majority of our community. We are asking to have our fireworks protected, and we would like to see the city address the concerns of the environmental groups through research and cooperation, but without impacting our economy and halting the celebrations that unite us as a country and honor the men and women who have built the beautiful place where we live. 

Please help us ask our city officials to fight for our fireworks, and research other ways to address environmental concerns!
