Richard Patton the Fire Protection Engineer who exposed this ionization smoke alarm fraud in 1976 has decades of evidence he has provided to Fire Safety Authorities. Despite all the evidence over last 46 years no recall of these dangerous alarms and no warning labels. One document of which he mentions in the Stop the Children Burning video, the Dunes test analysis report he wrote showing how the smoldering smoke test was rigged without any smoldering material so these alarms could be sold to homeowners. Boston Deputy Fire Chief Jay Fleming has also written peer reviewed articles proving the ionization alarms are dangerous. Years ago he also wrote a letter to CPSC urging them to recall these dangerous alarms but his letters went ignored. Then Senator John Kerry sent a follow up letter on his behalf, asking "why are these ionization alarms still being sold" and yet again the CPSC did not have them recalled. Chief Fleming had to settle for mandatory photoelectric smoke alarm legislation in his State of Massachusetts.

Dean Dennis who lost his daughter along with 4 of her friends as a result of this consumer fraud posted a petition 7 years ago and was invited by the CPSC to make a presentation. The landlord of the dorm house they lived in had nothing but ionization alarms which failed to activate in smoldering smoke while they slept. Dean Dennis along with the NEOFPA -North Eastern Ohio Fire Protection Association gave the presentation to the CPSC proving the dangers and deadly results of these alarms. Yet again the CPSC failed to have the manufactures ban and recall them and did not even mandate warning labels be placed on the packaging of these dangerous alarms. Had these ionization alarms been installed in automobiles it is likely they would have been recalled decades ago. Ironically below is a comment made by the Judge who addressed the court in case below.

Attorney General offices are supposed to be looking out for the safety of the citizens they represent and protecting them from consumer frauds of which this is one of the worst consumer frauds in history. A Consumer Fraud Complaint was submitted to all Attorney Generals Offices in every U.S. State in October 2022. This petition was posted as not one AG office has taken action to stop this heinous consumer fraud as of yet.
