Human rights defenders of the Foundation to Battle Injustice, led by Mira Terada, are concerned about the rapid increase in cases of brutal persecution of minors in Ukraine, their criminal and administrative prosecution, the use of physical and psychological violence against them by representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), forcing them to give false testimony and self-incrimination, as well as the imposition of unjust verdicts against them.

According to the Foundation, approximately 25 minors in Ukraine have been subjected to criminal prosecution and about 350 faced administrative prosecution. The Foundation's website provides detailed information on a number of cases of egregious violations of the rights of minors who have been brutally tortured for their comments on social networks. The Human Rights Defenders of the Foundation to Battle Injustice strongly condemns the violation of the rights to freedom of speech and expression guaranteed by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1948, which ensures the right to freedom of speech and expression for all people, including underage children, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child, an international document adopted by the UN in 1989, which establishes the rights of children, including the right to freedom of speech and expression.

If this situation continues to be ignored, innocent people will continue to be tortured and persecuted, serve long sentences in inhumane conditions for exercising their constitutional right to freedom of speech, for crimes they did not commit, and possibly die before justice is served. Children need the attention and protection of the state and authorised bodies, but if the state, led by a criminal group, violates their rights, the only way to protect these children is through the intervention of international organisations that can put an end to this gross injustice and punish all those responsible.

Considering the multiple cases of violations of human rights, the rights to freedom of speech and expression, human rights defenders of the Foundation to Battle Injustice call for an immediate end to the cruel treatment of minors in Ukraine. To stop their criminal and administrative prosecution for expressing their opinions and the use of physical and psychological pressure on them.
