Zuriel Gibson is the founder of Gibson Lupus A.R.C. and a lupus Survivor. Being a true warrior she endured many life threatening experiences when a flareup occurred right after being diagnosed with lupus. More than a few times doctors had written her off for died. She was introduced to information but never given a thorough plan to navigate a new way of life while being heavily medicated. Due to the lack of knowledge navigating through this new way of life Ms. Gibson social life suffered tremendously and she could no longer work a regular 9 to 5 job eventually became homeless living from house to house and shelter to shelter. Unfortunately there are millions of Americas with this same story. Ms. Gibson decided to take control of the situation and began a process of healing herself, with some doctors guidance at times. I'm happy to say she is doing better and has the determined mindset to stop this cycle through advocacy and educating others with lupus and autoimmune disorders.
