Why this petition matters

Started by Robert Shields

The purpose of this petition is to demonstrate public support for the Polaris hotel to be deconstructed (as opposed to demolished) to give life to a mixed-use development that makes the business case for environmental stewardship.

To encourage the City of Fairbanks, who owns the Polaris Hotel, the Fairbanks North Star Borough assembly, who owns the landfill where they are purposing to dump the debris, and the State of Alaska, who is ultimately responsible for the people of Alaska to engage with the Bridge Ecovillage in good faith negotiations on how selling the property (and reclaimed material) can manifest this, or a similar reality.

By creating the space to train the next generation of permaculture professionals and driving private equity investments into food sovereignty projects we believe its possible to put people to work healing the planet. In every industry from agriculture to aerospace and from environmental science to energy production we can invest in good jobs that build a green world and a brighter future for us all.

We have secured a letter of interest from Nugen Development and the Bridge Ecovillage for $200 Million dedicated to a project with potential to expand. Our intent is to attract the local support  necessary to provide living wage jobs, financial literacy, and comprehensive support services for clients to reach their potential as innovators and community leaders.

Here is a short video of what the Bridge Ecovillage does and a project from Nugen video as inspiration of what we can do here too.
