Why this petition matters

Started by James Kubal

The Nashville Town Council is presently scheduled to vote on an ordinance that would create a Human Rights Commission. The Commission would address the issues of bias, discrimination, and prejudice in our community. The proposal would create a 5-member volunteer commission which would be charged with offering educational opportunities regarding awareness of diversity in the community. They will establish procedures regarding complaints and calls related to human rights issues. Many communities in Indiana with human rights commissions report a positive image for their community and increase in tourism due to their commission. You may obtain copies of the ordinance at https://www.townofnashville.org/ . If you agree that such a commission would be positive for our community and you would like to support this effort, please sign the petition below. Your support would also be appreciated at the Aug. 18th council meeting. Thank you for your support.
