We, the undersigned, present this petition with the utmost respect for the technological advancements that our nations tirelessly strive for. We acknowledge the immense potential of fifth-generation (5G) wireless communication technology in propelling us into a new era of connectivity and economic growth.

Nonetheless, it is incumbent upon us, as stewards of public interest, to exercise our due diligence in understanding the long-term implications of these advancements, particularly those that relate to the health and well-being of our citizenry.

While 5G technology holds immense promise, the speed of its development and implementation, and the relative novelty of its operative principles, have raised legitimate questions about its potential health impacts, given the higher frequencies and denser infrastructure it requires.

As responsible leaders, we must ensure that the pursuit of technological progress does not outpace our understanding of its potential consequences. We therefore call upon our governments to consider the following:

1. Temporarily moderate the pace of 5G implementation, allowing for the completion of comprehensive, independent, and peer-reviewed studies into any potential health effects linked to this new technology.
2. Guarantee transparency, public participation, and accountability in the decision-making processes surrounding the deployment of 5G infrastructure, thereby strengthening trust and cooperation between government, industry, and the public.
3. Uphold the Precautionary Principle - widely recognized in international policy - affirming that if an action or policy holds potential harm to public health or the environment, the burden of proof lies on those advocating for such action or policy, especially in the absence of scientific consensus.
