In 2000, Trailblazer & Texan Opal Lee Started the Yearly March for Its Federal Inclusion and Then in 2021, It Was Recognized into Federal Law by President Biden—the Juneteenth Holiday Experienced a Long, yet Triumphant Journey From June 19, 1865. 

Yet, the Journey Continues for the State of Alabama, which Currently Awaits a State Legislative Consensus Before Governor Kay Ivey will Implement into Law. Without Such Legislative Agreement, Each Year the Governor Performs a Declaration Recognizing the Federal Holiday.
