As an integrative nutrition student, I have seen firsthand the rapid advancements in food science. While these developments can be exciting, they often prioritize corporate profits over rigorous testing and long-term safety. This is a concern for me and many other Canadians who believe we have a right to know what's in our food.

Recently, there has been talk about incorporating mRNA vaccines into our food supply as a method of mass immunization. While this technology may hold promise for public health, it also raises questions about transparency and informed consent.

In Canada, we currently lack regulations that mandate clear labeling of foods containing such substances on the packaging. This means that consumers could unknowingly ingest components of these vaccines or remnants present in food products without their explicit consent or knowledge.

According to Health Canada's Food Labelling Modernization initiative (2018), one of the key objectives is to provide Canadians with labels that are easy to read and understand. However, without mandatory labeling for foods containing mRNA vaccines or similar injections, this objective cannot be fully realized.

We must advocate for transparency when it comes to our food supply. It is essential that all Canadians can make informed decisions about what they consume based on accurate information provided directly on the product packaging. It is the responsibility of the Canadian Gov't and it's regulatory agencies to protect Canadians foods and prioritize public health - disclosing new mRNA technology used in our food and specifically animal products or by-products is paramount.
