Petition to Remove the OP-ED Amber Heard wrote from the Washington Post!
Why this petition matters
Now that Ms. Heard was found liable on all three counts for defaming Johnny Depp in the Washington Post op-ed titled “I spoke up against sexual violence—and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change", the online article should be removed.
It is unfair to Johnny Depp to have this article remain online when it was proven in a US Court of Law to hold false and defamatory statements made with malice toward Mr. Depp.
A jury found Ms. Heard liable on all three counts (see below) for making false, defamatory, and malice statements about Mr. Depp, and yet the Washington Post has not removed the online article.
1. “I spoke up against sexual violence and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change.”
2. “Then two years ago, I became a public figure representing domestic abuse, and I felt the full force of our culture’s wrath for women who speak out.”
3. “I had the rare vantage point of seeing, in real time, how institutions protect men accused of abuse.”
The Washington Post has only made an editor’s note of the outcome of the trial but has not taken any responsibility or action to remove the article which was written by the abuser.
