Save Our GP Surgery in Borth, Ceredigion.

Borth surgery has provided excellent primary care to the people of North Ceredigion for decades.  The surgery for many years has been supported by two partners.  Currently Dr Sue FISH is the sole General Practitioner partner at the surgery.  Despite the surgery employing several other health professionals, the current contracts require a GP to be available Monday to Friday 8:00am to 6:30pm.  The practice has advertised for a new partner for a number of years, without success.  Dr Fish is likely to retire later this year.  By law, she will then have to return the contract for providing GP services in our area to Hywel Dda University Health Board.  HDUHB will then decide what should happen to the practice and its patients.

We strongly request that HDUHB enter urgent, meaningful discussions the community to ensure the continuation of locally accessible General Practitioner and other community services closer to home for the current and future patients of Borth Surgery.

The ramifications of a reactive, poorly thought-out solution are far broader and serious than just for the community of Borth and its visitors.  This is the opportunity for HDUHB to lead the way in providing an innovative model for the provision of primary care in a rural setting. A model that is collaborative, well planned and that works for all concerned.

Achubwch ein meddygfa yn Y Borth, Ceredigion

Mae meddygfa'r Borth wedi darparu gofal sylfaenol ardderchog i bobl Gogledd Ceredigion ers degawdau.  Ers blynyddoedd lawer mae'r feddygfa wedi cael ei chynnal gan ddau bartner ond ar hyn o bryd Dr Sue FISH yw'r unig feddyg teulu yno.  Er bod y feddygfa yn cyflogi sawl gweithiwr iechyd proffesiynol arall, mae'r cytundebau presennol yn gofyn i feddyg teulu fod ar gael o ddydd Llun i ddydd Gwener rhwng 8:00am a 6:30pm.  Er i'r practis hysbysebu am bartner newydd ers nifer o flynyddoedd, cafwyd neb.  Mae'n debygol y bydd Dr Fish yn ymddeol yn ddiweddarach eleni.  Yn ôl y gyfraith, bydd wedyn yn rhaid iddi ddychwelyd y cytundeb ar gyfer darparu gwasanaethau meddygon teulu yn ein hardal i Fwrdd Iechyd Prifysgol Hywel Dda.  Yna bydd HDUHB yn penderfynu beth ddylai ddigwydd i'r arfer a'i gleifion.

Gofynnwn yn gryf i HDUHB fynd i mewn i drafodaethau brys, ystyrlon gyda'r gymuned i sicrhau parhad Ymarferydd Cyffredinol hygyrch lleol a gwasanaethau cymunedol eraill yn nes at adref ar gyfer cleifion presennol a dyfodol Meddygfa'r Y Borth.

Mae goblygiadau datrysiad adweithiol, gwael, yn llawer ehangach a difrifol na dim ond i gymuned y Borth a'i hymwelwyr.  Dyma'r cyfle i HDUHB arwain y ffordd wrth ddarparu model arloesol ar gyfer darparu gofal sylfaenol mewn lleoliad gwledig. Model sy'n gydweithredol, wedi'i gynllunio'n dda ac sy'n gweithio i bawb dan sylw.
