For a car that represents the pinnacle of MG’s engineering and design efforts, it is wholly unacceptable for it to perform akin to a 40 year old car. The fact that most test drives do not reach highway speeds means many buyers were completely unaware of the problem at the time of purchase, only to discover it under conditions that cannot be replicated within the confines of a dealership’s standard test route.

Further compounding this issue is the introduction of newer MG4 XPower models that reportedly do not suffer from the same problem, suggesting that MG has both acknowledged and addressed the root cause in subsequent manufacturing processes. This development, however, offers little solace to early adopters and loyal customers, who now find themselves with devalued vehicles marred by an unresolved defect.

The steering dampener solution proposed by MG has proven ineffective, leaving owners to contend with an issue that renders long-distance travel not just unpleasant but, in some cases, unbearable. For a vehicle marketed as the epitome of modern electric vehicle technology and luxury, such a fundamental flaw is not only disappointing but unacceptable.

We demand that MG takes immediate and transparent action to fix this vibration issue for all affected MG4 XPower models, regardless of their manufacturing date. Owners deserve a solution that restores their vehicles to the standard of quality and performance rightfully expected from MG’s flagship model.
