Why this petition matters

Started by Oliver Lowe

Station Road/Wrenbury Road is the primary access road into and out of Wrenbury - a Local Service Centre that serves a wide rural community of several thousand people through provision of Wrenbury Doctors Surgery, Post Office, School, railway station, shop and pubs.

The stretch of road around the station has been heavily potholed, with blocked drains, for several years resulting in two lengths of now highly degraded and dangerous road surface.

Work to repair the road was scheduled for 2021, but Cheshire East Highways reallocated the funding elsewhere due to the route being a low priority "unclassified road".

Cheshire East Highways have allocated funding for repairs to this road in 2022, but has yet to schedule the work.  In order to get a quality repair the work should be undertaken in the dry.  This petition calls for Cheshire East to consider the designation of this road (which should be maintained as a higher priority B-Road) and schedule the work to be undertaken by the end of Summer 2022 and to not reallocate the funding yet again.
