Why this petition matters

Started by Giggens Giggens

Dear Capitol/Brother Records,

With the Beach Boys’ 60th Anniversary here, fans of the band would like access to their entire catalog.  Both “Still Cruisin” and “Summer in Paradise” have been physically out of print since their initial run, and neither are available via streaming services.

The body of music created by The Beach Boys is culturally significant and a historical document that needs to be available for current and future generations to enjoy.  I am also proposing that these albums receive the bonus track treatment, so there is even more incentive to pick them up or stream them.

For instance, “Still Cruisin” will feature the original album, along with very hard to find singles of the era, which include “Chasing the Sky”, “East Meets West”, “Happy Endings”, “Don’t Worry Baby” with the Everly Brothers, the Spanish version of “Kokomo”, “Living Doll”; just to name a few.

”Summer in Paradise” would include both the US and UK versions, as well as “Problem Child”, “Crocodile Rock”, and the two other mixes of “Forever” that were sent out to radio stations.

Both albums could also feature live tracks of songs from the era.

This petition is directed at Capitol/Brother Records because it would make a lot of fans very happy!  This music needs to be heard, and fills in gaps in their available discography.

If these reissues were to actually happen, I am offering my services to write the liner notes and help identify tracks for the bonus material.  I have been creating content online about The Beach Boys for years, and would be thrilled to help bring this project to life for the fans!

Thank you for your time, and let’s make this happen!  “Come on, let’s cruise, we got nothin to lose!”
