Why this petition matters

Started by Sean Tomlinson

Stop TPG telecom from moving their email services to a third party provider

In their terms and conditions it states: "TPG will pay The Messaging Company email service charge until 15 September 2024. After 15 September 2024, you will be responsible for paying any charges you incur for the email service. The Messaging Company will contact customers with available pricing options at least 60 days prior to commencing charges for the email service."

This means a TPG customer will PAY for a service that is provided by an internet provider, this is wrong.

Forcing customers whom have been loyal to the provider for a long time isn't right, speaking to their customer service basically tells me to goto their terms and conditions.

TPG you apparently don't care about your customers doing this.

This is part of a copy of an email sent out to tpg customers;

Hello Sean,

TPG has made the decision to stop providing email services in 2023. This change will help us focus on creating better experiences for our core products: internet and mobile.

You can opt-in to transfer your TPG email address to another Australian email provider, The Messaging Company. The Messaging Company will become your email provider and most importantly, you will not lose any emails, contacts or calendar events as part of the transfer.

To keep using your email address, you’ll need to opt-in to transferring to The Messaging Company by 19/09/2023, otherwise your email address may be suspended.
