I am graduating this spring, and I was looking forward to walking across the stage in the same spot as every other graduating class. I had my graduation for high school over Zoom, as did many of my graduating peers, and it is unfair to rob us of this experience without explanation. The limit of only six tickets per student is exclusionary and absurd. We deserve to graduate on that lawn that we have dreamt about and worked hard to walk across, and the alternative provided of the Recreation Center Field is, quite frankly, insulting to the hard work of this class. The Recreation Center is for UCSB students to engage in recreation and sports, not for celebrating our achievements.

Please join me in urging UC Santa Barbara administration to allow us a proper graduation ceremony on the Commencement Lawn without ticket restrictions. Sign this petition!
