We, the undersigned, believe that the current financial system is broken. It is centralized, controlled by a few powerful institutions, and fails to serve the needs of the many. We believe that a better way is possible, and that way is decentralized finance.

About Decentralized Finance→  Decentralized finance, or DeFi, is a revolutionary new system that leverages blockchain technology for a more equitable, transparent, and accessible financial system.  

By removing intermediaries, reducing fees, and empowering individuals, DeFi can solve many of the problems that exist in the current financial system. These problems include; unequal access to financial services, discrimination against underprivileged communities, high fees and interest rates, and lack of transparency and accountability. 

About Us→ (R)evolution is a cause and a collective of individuals dedicated to advancing decentralized finance.  We believe all people deserve access to personal financial security. And we believe in the power of blockchain to facilitate (r)evolution— the evolution of revolution itself— and a peaceful transition to a more evolved and equitable financial system.

Our Broken System→ Every day we put money into banks, who leverage our deposits for their own benefit, corporate advantage, and investor gains. Then they exploit the authority we give them, charging us for banking “privileges” and penalizing us with fees. And then, when their investments go poorly, we’re the ones who “bail them out”— via taxes. And we’re the ones who suffer the consequences— via the excess inflation that results from the money printed to cover their corporate depositors.  

Time for Change →  This way of banking is unfair, outdated, and short-sighted, to the point of detriment to all stakeholders involved. And just like companies such Uber and Lyft, disrupted an entire industry by decentralizing transportation exchange, so too will decentralized finance disrupt our financial system and provide immense and equitable benefits for all.  

The Hurdle→ But this change is contingent upon our policymakers, who are torn between the public they are sworn to serve and the special interest groups that get them elected. And our leaders do not readily support systemic change— unless the public demands it.
