Why this petition matters

Started by Aa Rr

I am writing this petition to address a pressing issue that affects numerous individuals, especially those who hold Canadian citizenship and have planned to visit India for various festivals taking place between October and December. As an individual who empathizes with their situation, I strongly urge the Indian and Canadian governments to take immediate measures to resolve this predicament without adversely impacting the lives of ordinary people.

Personal Story:
Recently, I came across several heartbreaking stories from fellow Canadians who were eagerly looking forward to visiting India during the upcoming festive season. These individuals had meticulously planned their vacations, made necessary arrangements, and even booked non-refundable tickets due to the high demand during this time of year. However, their plans have been abruptly disrupted by the suspension of Indian visas for Canadian citizens.

It is disheartening to witness how these hardworking individuals are now left in a state of uncertainty and confusion. Many have invested significant amounts of money in travel expenses, accommodations, and other related arrangements. The sudden suspension has not only caused financial distress but also emotional turmoil as they are unable to reunite with their families or participate in important cultural events. Also, there are many who needs emergency visit to India to see their parents, grandparents who might be sick, lose of an immediate family member or for treatment purposes.

Facts and Statistics:
While it is essential that our petition is supported by accurate information from reliable sources, I would like to emphasize that these facts should be verified before being presented as evidence:

1. According to recent reports from BLS  website, there has been a suspension on Indian visas for Canadian citizens due to the ongoing diplomatic issue. This decision has affected thousands of individuals who had planned trips during the festive season.
2. The festive period between October and December witnesses a significant influx of tourists visiting India from Canada. This suspension not only impacts personal travel plans but also negatively affects tourism revenue for both countries.
3. Non-refundable tickets are common during peak seasons due to limited availability. With many individuals now unable to travel, they face financial losses and are left with no alternative options.

Petition Goal:
Through this petition, we seek to urge the Indian and Canadian governments to reconsider the suspension of Indian visas for Canadian citizens. We understand that there may be valid reasons behind this decision; however, we believe that alternative measures can be taken to ensure the safety and security of both nations without causing undue hardship to ordinary people.

By revoking this suspension or implementing a temporary solution, such as issuing emergency visas or facilitating rescheduling options for affected individuals, both governments can demonstrate their commitment towards supporting their citizens during these challenging times.

Conclusion:
It is crucial that our voices are heard by those in power. We implore the Indian and Canadian governments to prioritize the well-being of their citizens by finding a swift resolution to this issue. Let us come together as a community and advocate for fairness, compassion, and understanding in order to alleviate the distress faced by countless Canadians who are currently caught in this unfortunate situation.

Please sign this petition if you believe in safeguarding the rights of individuals who have been impacted by the suspension of Indian visas for Canadian citizens. Together, let us strive for a solution that upholds our shared values of inclusivity and empathy.
