Mount Sinai South Nassau plans to invest $35 million to transform a vacant Verizon building at 2020 Wantagh Avenue into a state-of-the-art medical office building that will bring an array of specialty services together under one roof, including cancer, cardiac, women’s care, radiology and diabetes treatment experts.

Let the Town of Hempstead’s Board of Zoning & Appeals know you are in favor of moving this project forward. The hospital’s zoning application for 2020 Wantagh Ave., Wantagh, is scheduled for Wednesday, April 27, 3pm at Town of Hempstead Town Hall.

The project also is expected to bring about 100 new jobs to Wantagh while creating economic benefits for the local businesses and the South Shore of eastern Nassau County.

This facility is NOT a hospital. There will be no overnight beds, no ambulance bays, no drug treatment or mental health facilities located at this site. Ample parking will be provided. Traffic from the parking area will be directed to exit toward Sunrise Highway to lessen any impact on surrounding streets.
