Protect Black Women in Greenville: Drop the Charge on Danisha Rogers!
Why this petition matters
We at Mapinduzi are demanding that GPD drops the charge against Danisha Rogers, reimburses her for medical bills as well as related damages and expenses, and fires the officer, Adam Armenta, that was directly responsible for breaking Danisha's hand.

On August 31, Greenville Police Department (GPD) brutally assaulted our beloved comrade Danisha Rogers, shattering her fingers. As a result, Danisha ended up needing surgery and will have five screws in her fingers for the rest of her life.
Not only has Danisha had to attend hospital visits, endure surgery, and continue to make ends meet, all while taking care of her family of five children, she is still facing harassment from GPD as well as the court system due to the bogus charge of "resisting arrest" while GPD officers brutalized Danisha and harassed her teenage daughter during a "routine" traffic stop.
The Daily Reflector interviewed interim Police Chief Ted Sauls and GPD’s public information officer Kristen Hunter about the recent police assault on Danisha Rogers. Both stated that they highly commended the officers responsible for Danisha's broken fingers, calling it "professionalism". GPD has also repeatedly referred to this as a “routine traffic stop” despite the fact that approximately ten officers surrounded her and her daughter with no clear reason. Danisha is an outspoken member of Mapinduzi and a proponent of exposing GPD's brutality of colonized black and brown communities in the Greenville area.
We know that whenever a comrade is attacked by the state, it is never just about that comrade, but instead serves as a warning to all of us involved in anti-imperialist and anti-capitalist organizing. We all have a stake in defending that comrade.
