Why this petition matters

Our mission is to persuade the Cape Coral City Council to reject the proposed Redfish Pointe development in the area of mixed wetlands and uplands directly south of Rotary Park. Note: No donation is necessary to sign the petition. Change.org will prompt you for a donation that does not go to this cause.

This huge development will

  • Compromise the city's natural storm protections provided by wetlands on this property, thereby increasing the risk of flooding and storm damage to homes in SW Cape Coral.
  • Violate the intent of the Conservation Easement established in 1991 between the City of Cape Coral and the State Department of Environmental Regulation.
  • Destroy critical habitat for Cape Coral wildlife including protected species.
  • Substantially and permanently increase traffic, destroying the peaceful character and allure of the community, especially during the long construction phase.
  • Significantly impair the ecology, natural character and appeal of Rotary Park.
  • Place excessive burden upon city infrastructure.
