Following the the airing of Panorama program on Monday 19th July, The Dark Side Of Horse Racing. The abattoir F Drury & Sons Ltd in Tockenham, Swindon needs closing down for inhumane treatment of horses. Panorama recorded that 26 times, they had two horses in the killing room at the same time, along with the main man who was carrying out the slaughter, waving a gun around. Those poor horses were terrified, not an acceptable way to end their lives, the footage was deeply distressing and I am sure Panorama will be more than happy to supply the footage. This slaughterhouse even are putting horses in the food chain which have had Bute administered which is illegal. We as a nation do not eat horse meat, so therefore there is no need for this awful practice here. It would also stop trainers like Gordon Elliot having horses travel 350 miles to be slaughtered for meat money. Please close them down!
