A petition didn't work for remaking season 8 of Game of Thrones, but maybe this will work for changing Reddit's Block policy!

Reddit's new block function prevents the blocked user from seeing and replying to the user's content, whereas previously, the blocked user's content would just be hidden. This meant that the conversation could continue for everyone else normally while the individual who did not want to see content was spared. 

This new system only encourages the creation of echo chambers (or bubbles), and while we understand the personal safety concerns, it seem antithetical to Reddit's mission of stomping out misinformation. Not to mention all the subs that will be diminished because debate is hindered when you block people who disagree with you, or voter manipulation when you block people who dislike your content. Whole side conversations that do not involve the blocker will now be hindered.

At the very least, please provide us with an ignore function which worked like the former block function, so that users can still avoid seeing the content they don't like without revoking that privilege from everyone else.
