Why this petition matters

Michele Dauber, a professor at Stanford University has taken to Twitter to express her discuss for Johnny Depp's lawyer Camille Vasquez.  Although everyone has the right to express their opinions on the outcome of the trial and their opinions of the lawyers for either sides, Michele Dauber has taken it too far! She is evidently in support of Amber Heard, but her blatant degrading of Ms. Vasquez has crossed the line of disagreeing with her professional abilities to downright publicly degrading her as a person and as a woman. Her name calling and public railroading the ability of Ms. Vasquez is not only defamation of character but also unprofessional and unsubstantiated.  As a professor at Stanford University, this is unacceptable behavior that Stanford should not tolerate from a member of their staff.  If this was a male professor and he would have referred to woman as "skirts", he would have immediately have been reprimanded and promptly removed from his position. Johnny Depp's entire case was literally based on exactly this same issue: women can abuse anyone physically or emotionally and get away with it, but if a man does anything remotely the same, they are put in front of a firing squad in the media and the world. Let's not allow this to happen once again! Michelle Dauber should be held accountable the same way one of her male peers would if he would have publicly degraded and viciously went after Ms. Vasquez.  Let's make sure our voices are heard that we aren't going to tolerate this kind of behavior from anyone,  male or female! Stanford needs to remove Michelle Dauber from their staff!
