Dr. Elizabeth Lolli was hired by an Superintendent that a previous board fired shortly after hiring her. A search was never conducted. Lolli was moved into a position she had no applicable experience doing- running a large urban school district.
A background check would have found that she was never successful in other districts.
Since she's been in charge of the district there has been non-stop epic level upheaval. Constant shuffling of building leadership, programs, and HR. The district has lost students, staff and credibility- and scores have not improved.
Morale is at an all time low.
Fights in the buildings are common and make for unsafe working conditions.
Changing policy on computers mid-year without collaborating with the educational professionals in the field (teachers) was disrespectful and unwarranted- especially when possibly facing more remote teaching.
Transportation has been a constant state of failure. If kids can't get to school- teachers can't teach.
She's changed the way board meetings are conducted to give her more power and less accountability- and the former board allowed it.
We need to go back to $10,000 as the max unbid- unreviewed spend limit .
The sunshine laws have been ignored- with contracts being given to Nan Whaley's husband's firm without public review.
There is no reason to keep her in the position as superintendent for another minute.
The numbers of resignations- at the end of this contract year may permanently destroy this district if a new vision and leadership isn't put in place.
There are other options for leadership available- it's up to this board to make a quick decision and put someone in charge who can restore faith in leadership- and bring back safe working conditions immediately.
