Tuntenhaus bleibt: queere Räume retten – Verdrängung stoppen!

Seit über 30 Jahren ist das Tuntenhaus in der Kastanienallee 86 ein Ort der Begegnung und der Vielfalt. Hier finden queere, oft marginalisierte Menschen aus vielen Teilen der Welt ein Zuhause. Im Februar wurde das Tuntenhaus an bisher unbekannte Investor*innen verkauft. Das bedeutet Verdrängung durch teure Sanierung und exorbitante Mieten „in bester Lage“. Unser Lebensraum und Ort queerer Subkultur ist akut in Gefahr.

 

 

Warum ist das Tuntenhaus wichtig für Berlin?

Nicht nur in Berlin ist das Haus als Wahrzeichen der schwulen und queeren Community bekannt. Unser Hausprojekt steht für ein Berlin, das rar geworden ist: ein Berlin, das Subkultur und kollektive Hausgemeinschaften durch bezahlbaren Wohnraum überhaupt erst möglich gemacht hat und somit einen Freiraum, aber besonders auch einen sicheren Ort für schwule und queere Menschen geschaffen hat. Die Hausgemeinschaft trägt durch ihre preisgünstige „Küche für alle“, ihre Lebensmittel-Verteilstelle für benachteiligte Menschen und Hoffeste zur sozialkulturellen Vielfalt der Nachbarschaft und deren Zusammenhalt bei.

 

 

Was ist die Lösung?

Der Bezirk Pankow prüft und nutzt das Vorkaufsrecht. Dadurch kann das Tuntenhaus in eine am Gemeinwohl orientierte Genossenschaft überführt werden, wenn der Berliner CDU-SPD-Senat der Finanzierung zustimmt.

Der Senat steht hier in der Verantwortung. Im Koalitionsvertrag hat er sich zum Vorkaufsrecht und zur Förderung von Genossenschaften bekannt. Laut Koalitionsvertrag sind Safer Spaces und diskriminierungssensible Begegnungsräume vor Verdrängung zu schützen! Aber der Senat weigert sich bisher, finanzielle Mittel bereit zu stellen. Dabei läuft die Frist für das Vorkaufsrecht Mitte Mai ab.

Was möchte diese Petition erreichen?

Die Zusage des Berliner CDU-SPD-Senats dafür, die Überführung des Tuntenhauses in eine Genossenschaft durch die am 7. März 2024 gesperrten Haushaltsmittel und Kredite zu unterstützen. Es braucht die Ankaufsförderung für die am Gemeinwohl orientierte Käuferin (z.B. IBB-Kredite) und Mittel für die nachzuholende Instandsetzung.

Wie könnt ihr das Tuntenhaus noch weiter unterstützen?

Sagt dem Berliner Senat, wie wichtig ihr das Haus findet und dass er die Gelder freigeben muss! Spendet für die Rettung des Tuntenhauses! Kontaktiert uns, wenn ihr helfen könnt! Lasst uns bei unseren Aktionen viele sein!

Tuntenhaus stays: save queer spaces - stop displacement

Why is this petition important?

For over 30 years, the Tuntenhaus at Kastanienallee 86 has been a place of encounter and diversity. Queer people, often marginalized, from many parts of the world find a home here. In February, the Tuntenhaus was sold to previously unknown investors. This means displacement through expensive refurbishment and exorbitant rents "in a prime location". Our living space and a place of queer subculture is in acute danger.

Why is the Tuntenhaus important for Berlin?

The house is not only known in Berlin as a landmark of the gay and queer community. Our house project stands for a Berlin that has become rare: a Berlin that has made subculture and collective house communities possible in the first place through affordable housing and has thus created a free space, but above all a safe place for gay and queer people. The housing community contributes to the socio-cultural diversity of the neighbourhood and its cohesion through its affordable "kitchen for all", its food distribution point for disadvantaged people and its world-famous courtyard parties.

 

 

What is the solution?

The district of Pankow is examining and utilising the right of first refusal. This means that the Tuntenhaus can be transferred to a co-operative oriented towards the common good if the Berlin CDU-SPD Senate agrees to the funding.

The Senate has a responsibility here. In the coalition agreement, it has committed itself to the right of first refusal and the promotion of cooperatives. According to the coalition agreement, safer spaces and discrimination-sensitive meeting places are to be protected from displacement! But the Senate has so far refused to provide funding. The deadline for the right of first refusal expires in mid-May.

What do we want to achieve with this petition?

The commitment of the Berlin CDU-SPD Senate to support the transfer of the Tuntenhaus to a cooperative through releasing the budget funds and loans that have been blocked on 7 March 2024. The purchase subsidy for the common good oriented buyer and funds for catch-up repairs are needed.
