Why this petition matters

Started by Macker Mckrell

By voting against this subdivision DA2022/01269 – 35 Cameron Street, Broadmeadow NSW 2292, you are ensuring that public discussion with Newcastle City Council is engaged on the site’s future.

There is an opportunity to create a community usage area for all.

There are few large spaces with such history dating back to the early 20th Century in the Newcastle suburbs that have such potential.

If the subdivision is processed without objection, Transport NSW (Sydney) will have the ability to sell the crown land to developers and return the proceeds to Sydney for their usage.

The Hunter has missed out on so many community areas to commercial development in recent years.

This is the only heritage facility of its kind left in the world.

It would be a tragedy for Novocastrians of today and the future, to lose this community space and potential tourist attraction.

We urge you to sign this objection petition, now!
