WhatsApp Must Immediately Stop Providing Material Support to Human Trafficking and Pig Butchering Scam Syndicates in South East Asia.

Read the Full Cease & Desist Notice Here

This notice may appear, on its face, to be adversarial. However, it is as much an invitation for urgent yet friendly dialogue with Meta, as it is a stern, preemptive, amicus brief(ish) cease and desist demand commensurate with the urgency of the matter, and in the interest of the tens of thousands of human trafficking victims that are described herein and WHO ARE AT META’S MERCY.

These slaves are being tortured!

The Full Cease & Desist Notice is Available here:

Who is impacted?

There are more than 100,000 slaves in Cambodia, Laos and other SE Asian countries who are forced to use WhatsApp to perpetrate Romance Scams and Investment scams against some of the 2.4 Billion monthly WhatsApp users around the world.

What is at stake?

If WhatsApp does not IMMEDIATELY reform it abuse policies, and actively seek assistance from NGOs such as PICDOm then there will continue to be thousands of new kidnappings every month, so that the Traffickers have a continual supply of forced labor, for their illegal boiler room operations.

Why is now the time to act?

PICDO and its partners can provide you with real-time, actionable intelligence reports that WhatsApp can you to massively disrupt these human trafficking syndicates. Your existing abuse reporting provisions within the WhatsApp App, as woefully insufficient, and does not allow effective crime disruption, at scale, and in real-time.
