I can watch this no longer. We need to speak up

Watching the horror of war unfolding in Ukraine. There is a sense of disbelief that this could actually be happening in 2022 in the developed world.

Intimidating headlines that speak to the "Nuclear Option" and suggest to us that this is not our fight...are now being replaced with headlines of the heroics of the Ukrainian people fighting hand-to-hand in some cases, while the rest of the world is afraid to get involved because of the so-called threat of the Nuclear Option. But today...after a few days of watching in horror...this feels different. Every day this week, for the first time I can remember, I am reading about more and more small, but important steps being taken around the world to say - NO! This is not going to be OK.

Russian businesses, banks, sportsmen and women, teams, oligarchs, SWIFT...anything associated with Russia is today becoming off-limits and isolated from the world we want to live in. We live in such a globally connected world, we are seeing the countries of the world waking up to the fact that Russia no longer has the privilege to do business with us, or be part of our global economy if they do not respect the sovereignty and democracy of Ukraine.

For those of us that are passionate about making the world a better place, we ALL need to add our voice to this movement. Without our voice, our Government may be afraid to go further. President Biden's words at the State of the Union speech set the stage. "Putin has no idea what's coming!!". I personally believe we need to be part of that message.

Does Putin think we care...probably not.... Does Putin think we can affect him...probably not.... But the world is coming together on this one, and the voice of opposition to this war is growing, and the noose around the Russian Economy is beginning to tighten.

It's hard to think about anything else, while the people of Ukraine are being driven from their homes by missiles and the weapons of modern warfare.

So what else can we do?

DONATE: To the Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund at Global Giving, which will provide shelter, food, and water to the millions of refugees fleeing their homes. The money will also be used for health and psychosocial care, as well as education and economic assistance.

WRITE/CALL: Your elected leaders - our President, our Senators, and Representatives and urge them to end ALL trade with Russia, including oil and gas.

By our actions, let's show all world leaders that War is Not The Answer if you want to trade with the free world.
