Why this petition matters

Started by John Newberry

As a frequent traveler, I have seen first-hand the potential intrusion of privacy that could come with the implementation of facial analysis tools and digital IDs by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Project2025. This move not only threatens our right to privacy but also poses a risk to our security.

The proposed system will be less secure, as it opens up new avenues for identity theft and cyber attacks. According to a report by Norton Cybersecurity, in 2019 alone there were over 4 million instances of identity theft reported in the United States (Norton Cybersecurity Insights Report Global Results, 2020). The introduction of digital IDs can potentially increase these numbers.

Moreover, this change may lead to crony monopolies as only certain companies would have access to this technology. This lack of competition can lead to inefficiency and higher costs for travelers.

Most disturbingly is that such centralized private systems could block access to travel based on social credit scores or carbon credits, or simply restrict the volume of travel while maximizing profits with "lottery systems" like they already do with our public lands and parks with unfair non-refundable "lottery fees" that profit government contractors.    The end-goal is that we are all required to use them and have a digital ID, in compliance with U.N. SDG 16.9 - global control of the people.

This is an infringement on our freedom of movement which is protected under Article 13 of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (United Nations General Assembly resolution 217A).

We must protect our rights as citizens against such invasive measures. We call upon lawmakers and regulators alike to prohibit TSA from privatizing security measures such as facial analysis tools and implementing digital IDs that violate our privacy rights. Please sign this petition if you believe in preserving your right to travel freely without unnecessary intrusions into your personal life.
