Install a pedestrian crossing on the A63 in Monk Fryston
Why this petition matters
The A63 (Main Street) running through Monk Fryston is a busy road with a high volume of HGVs. Crossing the road can be difficult for most people, and dangerous for the young, elderly or disabled. A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in early February 2023, demonstrating the dangers.
Monk Fryston Parish Council has (for many years) been trying to improve road safety in the village. Our requests for a pedestrian crossing have been declined on more than one occasion by North Yorkshire County Council.
Help us to demonstrate the level of public support for a pedestrian crossing by signing this petition.
If we can demonstrate a high level of support in the village, we believe that will put significant political pressure on North Yorkshire County Council to act.
When you sign the petition, you may also want to leave a comment explaining why you believe a pedestrian crossing is necessary and how it will benefit you and the local community.
Thank you for your support.
