We cannot wait until a child or neighbor is injured!

Two shocking accidents occurred at the Anzac/Moverly intersection in less than a month. A car overturned onto the median refuge island where our little ones usually wait at the lights.

Last weekend saw another vehicle crashing into the same exposed and unprotected median island where the Center for Road Safety has already recorded nine major car crashes over the past 5 years. 

Each day more than 1800 school children use the Anzac Pde, Moverly Rd & Storey St footpaths to access our community’s schools. Hundreds of them walk only an arms-length away from a busy 3-lane major road with no protection. 

We ask Council and Transport for NSW to urgently consider pedestrian protection measures at this intersection (see image top right of suggested bollards) and install pedestrian barriers along Anzac Parade outside the school exits (see image bottom right).
