The Battalion has been ordered to cease its weekly physical publications at the behest of Texas A&M University's President  M. Katherine Banks. President Banks desires to see the Battalion placed under the Department of Journalism (which would allow the University to have censorship control) and to only be an online publication. The physical copies of the Battalion are as integral a tradition to Texas A&M as the Century Tree, the MSC grass, and Midnight Yell.
