Why this petition matters

Started by Jonathan Silva

We are asking for your support in the addition of a disc golf course at Ideal Park located in the city of Wyoming, MI. This beautiful and historic park has created many memories for generations. In an effort to keep this community active, safe, and vibrant, we ask you to consider the benefits a disc golf course has to offer for our community. The sport of disc golf is inclusive to all members of the community, inexpensive, and a great activity to enjoy with your friends and family. Ideal Park has the potential to bring people together to enjoy the scenic open fields. Not only will it bring our community closer together, but this addition could provide a safer park with a “rotating neighborhood watch”. Depending on the weather, over 500 people can cycle through a disc golf course in one day. Currently, there is very low foot traffic, leaving open spaces vulnerable to vagrancy and vandalism. The constant flow of players helps prevent these problematic unsavory behaviors. We believe that Ideal Park will greatly benefit from this because disc golf courses are highly used and greatly valued. A new disc golf course also has the ability to bring revenue into our community by hosting tournaments and bringing business to our local shops. We encourage everyone to try disc golf and visit Ideal Park, so you can imagine what kind of change this community needs to thrive. Disc golf is growing rapidly and we hope you become a part of this project that could significantly improve the quality of life for our citizens. Please feel free to reach out to our municipal leaders to show your support! Thank you for you time!
