Did you know that all the wheat in Weetabix Original is grown within 50 miles* of the Weetabix Mills in Burton Latimer? Well, here at Weetabix we think this area is SO special that we’ve devised a grand plan, and we need YOUR help to make it a delicious reality!

We’re lobbying to have this extra special 50 mile radius location around the Weetabix Mills to be formally recognised as a county in its own right – Introducing Weetabixshire! 

Keeping it local helps us to reduce our carbon footprint (something all companies should be doing of course!), but our mission goes well beyond reducing food miles. It’s all about supporting our brilliant farmers in the local area who pour their passion in to every ‘Bix to produce the best wheat and whose hard graft is at the heart of every box! We believe this is something that should be both celebrated and protected. Our iconic golden grain and our Weetabix way is what makes every breakfast so special, and we want to mark that by declaring the land it comes from as a destination in its own right! Having fuelled breakfast time for over a whopping 90 years, these local farmers and their wheat-growing wizardry deserve more than a little recognition!

So what is Weetabixshire? Well this county isn't just a patch of land, it's a cereal sanctuary! Each precious grain of wheat within this magic circle is nurtured with passion, crafted with care, and deserves its own spot on the map. By officially designating this area as a county, we're not just celebrating the farmers and their amazing abilities, but also bolstering local communities. 

Weetabixshire is a land where every wheat stalk whispers tales of dedication and where breakfast magic is made. Let's raise our spoons and give a toast to the farmers, the grains, and the future of sustainable sourcing!
