Why this petition matters

Change.org user shares a personal struggle: "For over a century, we have been fighting for women's rights, yet we remain unmentioned in the Constitution of the United States." The absence of expressed women's rights in our nation's governing document reflects a deep-seated issue and it's overdue for rectification. Currently, women are disproportionately affected in areas such as wages, with women earning only 82% of what men earn according to a report from the U.S. Census Bureau. Moreover, without constitutional protection, women are still facing legal discrimination in many states.

Now it's time.We call for a constitutional amendment to unequivocally state the equal rights of women. This is not merely symbolic; it's about ensuring equal protection under the law and expressing clearly that gender inequality will not be tolerated. A Constitution reflective of its people should not be an unreasonable demand, yet this issue has been overlooked for far too long.

Let us rally together to fight for this change and ensure the rights of all are protected and acknowledged in our nation's most important document. Sign this petition today to urge our lawmakers to include women's rights in the United States Constitution.
