Anthony De Longis is the original actor who portrayed the character Blade in the 1987 live action adaptation of the popular cartoon He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, entitled Masters of the Universe. Adding to his acting credits, he is also a world-renown fightmaster working on many films and television shows.

This petition is to ask Kevin Smith and other producers of the new Netflix animated television series Masters of the Universe: Revelation to consider a larger cameo for the character Blade voiced by De Longis for the second season of the show.

Mr. De Longis would like Kevin and other decision makers to know:

"I began my professional career in 1973 performing Shakespeare at the Old Globe Theater in SD playing Edgar in KING LEAR. Richard Chamberlain and the Ahmamson Theater producers saw my work and hired me to play the Vicompte de Valvert in CYRANO DE BERGRAC earning me my Actors Equity card in the 1974 production. Director Joe Hardy also asked me to train Richard and choreograph the ‘duel in rhyme’ so important to Cyrano’s credibility for the rest of the play. This was my first big job as a swordmaster and action choreographer and I went all out to create dynamic character action for both of us. Richard was superb performing flawlessly and with great ‘panache.’ He and I had a grand time dueling stylishly and to great acclaim for 11 weeks of sold out performances. 

Thus began my career as Actor / Voice Artist / Choreographer / Fight Coordinator and happily I’m still going strong, I just occasionally have to replace some worn out parts. 

Very grateful for the many adventures and wonderful memories during a career that’s given me challenging and rewarding work in 13 countries on 5 continents. 

It was my great pleasure and privilege to create and play BLADE the Double Swordsman, a brand new character in the HE-MAN UNIVERSE. The feature film MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE is one of the highlights of my professional career. Director Gary Goddard gave me this unique opportunity and I did my best to bring depth and diversity to my part of ‘The Curious Quartet.’ I hope Kevin Smith will consider inviting BLADE to become a bigger part of his Eternian world view. BLADE has great character potential and depth and could make for a wonderful multi-layered entity in this brave new He-Man world. It would be wonderful to have the chance to voice the BLADE character that I originated and I have an extensive background in Voice work in addition to my other skills as Actor, Fight Coordinator and Weapons Expert. 

 I have much to be thankful for in my career and I am especially grateful for the rich life my wife and partner Dr. Mary and I have built together with our rescue dogs and horses.
