Why this petition matters

Started by Dustin Tucker

Maverick, a beloved pet owned by a Marlin resident who had recently suffered from a house fire, tragically passed away while under the care of Animal Control Officer (ACO) Grams. The city had offered to take care of this innocent creature while its owner was recovering from the devastating incident. However, instead of providing the necessary care and protection, Maverick met an untimely death due to negligence.

The lack of remorse shown by both Police Chief Hommel and ACO Grams is deeply troubling. It's not just about one dog; it's about the integrity and responsibility that these public officers should uphold in our community. Their actions are not only unethical but also illegal under Texas animal cruelty laws.

We as residents demand immediate action against these individuals who have failed in their duties towards our community members - both human and animal alike. We call on local authorities to hold Chief Hommel and ACO Grams accountable for their actions by terminating their employment immediately and charging them with animal cruelty.

This isn't just about seeking justice for Maverick; it's about ensuring that no other pet or family has to suffer such heartbreak due to negligence or cruelty again. Please sign this petition today to demand justice for Maverick!
