Why this petition matters

Started by Quinn Breadly

Parma seinor high has been around since 1953 and is set to be closed and torn down after the 2022-2023 school year. This building has seen several generations of Parma residents especially the main auditorium and little theater where our Parma seinor high drama club has put on numerous shows for the community and have learned and grown as people. The main auditorium where every musical the school has put on is shown, has 1550 seats making it one of the largest seating capacity's in northeast ohio the little theater is a 250 seat proscenium theater perfect for smaller events such as plays like puffs which was preformed in the little theater in November. but besides that ohio's very own Cleveland orchestra used to preform  in the main auditorium along with several crucial and influential celebrities such as, Jay and the Americans,Vicky Lawrence,The Rat pack,Bobby Vinton, Charro,The Lenon sisters, and Frankie Avalon. The stage caught fire March 30th where a fire fighter named Richard A, Eiredam has suffered smoke inhalation and passed at his home that night. The bell tower alone has been a landmark of this small town for the 70 years it's been around playing it's music that can be heard for miles. Our goal is to save the whole theater building section of the school with contains all 3 of these historical buildings and while it is true the the bell tower was supposed to be the main entrance for the new school building, since the leavie has not passed these parts of Parma history will be destroyed removing so much history from thus small community. Our goal is to preserve these buildings for generations to come and for them to enjoy.
