Over 400,000 single, women over the age of 55 across Australia are in housing stress.  It is a national disgrace.  Every Australian has a right to a suitable, safe, secure and affordable home.  New solutions to date are encouraging, but supply of suitable housing is well short of demand, without change, will worsen. 

Through my charity, Voice4OlderWomen.org, I will deliver support for appeals by the National Affordable Housing Alliance, and The Constellation Project for a national approach to ending homelessness.   An extended public awareness campaign is called for.  We have the "power to be powerful" (in John Farnham's words).  One million signatures will deliver a very strong message that as a country, we say enough, it is time to take serious action.

I encourage the Australian community to pledge their support, to put your signatures to this cause.  I will deliver your one million signatures to the Australian Government, and let there be an end to homelessness.  I offer hope to those 400,000 + women who need us.
