Today, the Supreme Court ruled to overturn Roe V. Wade. All Americans with the ability to give birth have lost a fundamental constitutional right. Now it is up to the state governments to decide whether or not abortion should be legal and who should have access to it.

The decision to abort a pregnancy is never easy, but for many, it is life saving. Many people do not have the means to look after a child or safely give birth. Most people who have abortions did not intend to get pregnant. Many people who get abortions were raped or are underaged. Nobody should have to risk their lives or give up on their dreams for something out of their control. As it stands now, 26 states will lose their rights to abortion almost entirely. People will be forced to give birth no matter the circumstance, or will be forced to use more unsafe methods.

Additionally many abortion clinics provide gender affirming surgeries for the transgender community. Additionally, the LGBTQIA+ community is also in danger of losing many rights, such as same sex marriage, since laws protecting them were based on precedents set in Roe V. Wade.

Overturning Roe v. Wade may have ripple effects through government, as rights to privacy have now been disregarded. This sets a dangerous precedent that can lead to the end of interracial marriage and contraceptive usage. We must protect our rights to privacy. 

Please help us protect our rights to abortion. This petition will be sent to bipartisan state governments in hopes of convincing them to protect this basic constitutional right. Please help us make real change.
