Why this petition matters

Started by Erica Commisso

I volunteer with an organization in the GTA, and I see how dire our needs are every day. We don’t have a physical shelter, ensuring that the dogs we rescue get a good life until they are officially adopted.

My first foster dog changed my life. She came to me in hard times, and offered me unconditional love when I needed it most. She is the reason I started this petition, and she inspires me to save as many dogs as I possibly can. A grant can help our organization, and many others like it, immensely, and make Canada a better place for all residents—including furry friends.

In tough times like these, asking for donations is hard. People are recovering from a worldwide pandemic and trying to stay afloat. So, a federal grant for licensed, proven animal rescues across Canada could benefit stray and surrendered animals across the country find their forever homes and get a new lease on life.
