Why this petition matters

Started by arianna galante

For years Ticketmaster has been selling tickets that are unfortunately bought by scalpers. When this happens, the price is driven up past face value, making it nearly impossible for fans to be able to afford tickets. Ticket master also has fan registration to ensure fans are the ones getting tickets, which many fans aren’t even able to access and are waitlisted, while scalpers purchase tickets and drive the price up. Platinum tickets are available to fans, but due to surge pricing algorithms, fans are unable to afford tickets as prices go from $200 to $1K. This is greedy on both behalf of scalpers and ticket companies.

We are calling upon Ticketmaster to ban reselling of tickets and stop the use of surge algorithms.  How can we achieve this? One option includes : having to show your id and credit card that you purchased the ticket with at the venue. If the names do not match, you should not be allowed entry. This has been done at other shows, including the FRIENDS experience in NYC, to ensure that the person entering the venue is the person who purchased the ticket. Since vaccine cards are being checked at doors, this small step will not take more time. Ticketmaster should be selling platinum tickets at face value, and only face value to ensure that registered fans are able to purchase the tickets for what they are worth.

Concerts are meant to be a fun experience, but unfortunately, the fun gets taken out of an event when you are unfairly charged.

Sign this petition to let Ticketmaster and ALL ticket companies know that we do not approve of reselling tickets and surging prices and we will not purchase them. We will only purchase tickets at face value and demand action be taken.
